ABOUT OPEN TO ALL
In this fast-paced, challenging business and political environment, many corporations can struggle with aspects of their DEI work—from rapid response to budget cuts to how to move forward in a changing legal landscape. Open to All is a nonprofit program that brings companies together so they can learn from, collaborate with and innovate with each other, rather than facing each new challenge alone.
Open to All works to create a new world where everyone is welcome— regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, immigration status, religion or disability. We offer peer collaborations and resources that have meaningful impact, and we pair the nonprofit sector with the private sector to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. We are a growing coalition of nearly 800,000 businesses large and small who have pledged to be Open to All. The coalition also includes over 200 nonprofits from racial justice, civil rights, disability advocacy groups, LGBTQ groups, faith organizations, and more. See the full list of supporters and members here. A national nonprofit, Open to All is a member of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.

OUR COMMUNITY
Our strength is in our collaborative approach. Together, we have the ability to transform work environments, business, and industry where everyone is not only welcome, but employees, customers, clients, vendors, and communities are valued and respected for who they are.
For our corporate members, Open to All convenes diversity, equity, inclusion officers, communications officers, and government affairs staff to deepen our collective commitment to creating environments where everyone can thrive, is seen, and feels a true sense of belonging. Our commitment to creating a culture of trust, collaboration, safety, and innovation has resulted in powerful industry-wide initiatives, including Inclusive Retail and our Mitigate Racial Bias in Retail Charter collaboration. While many brands may compete in the marketplace, within the OTA community, business leaders work together to share best practices and deepen their mission.
We come together on calls, webinars, our members-only platform, and in-person convenings. Our network of formidable nonprofit leaders and corporate partners develops innovative resources, trainings, and ongoing programming to best serve the populations in our pledge and support businesses large and small to be truly Open to All.
OUR RESOURCES
In addition to our open-sourced resources on our website, Open to All has many resources only available to our members, including:
Employee Resource Group Guidebook
OTA launched a100+ page Employee Resource Group Leadership Guidebook, published in partnership with Capri Holdings/Michael Kors and Seramount. We surveyed OTA members about their ERG programs and wrote case studies to address such topics as including part-time retail sales associates, best practices for working with communities of faith, intersecting identities (such as LGBTQ people of color), and how to manage ERGs globally.
Limitless Learning Retail Apprenticeship Program Pilot Blueprint
VF Corporation’s Limitless Learning Retail Apprenticeship program is a year-long program that grants retail associates the chance to develop new skills and make connections in a corporate setting. Open to All and VFC collaborated to create a blueprint for those interested in starting their own pilot apprenticeship program.
Managing Crisis: An Open to All Toolkit
In partnership with the Retail Industry Leaders Association, Right To Be, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, OTA produced a toolkit to manage crisis communications, public safety, brand reputation, protecting employees and customers from harassment and violence, and hearing from survivors and loved ones of hate-motivated violence, including retail locations.
We have three e-learnings available to Open to All members:
- Unconscious Bias Training produced in partnership with Ralph Lauren.
- Allyship and Advocacy Training produced in partnership with Ralph Lauren.
- Reduce Racial Bias in Retail Training produced in partnership with Mattingly Solutions.
